Festive Cacao Cocktails

We are thrilled to partner with the Beverage Botanist to bring you two delicious cacao cocktail recipes to brighten your holiday celebrations at home. Both are infused with our signature Ecuadorian drinking cacaos and make for a festive and classy addition to date night in or Thanksgiving backyard happy hour.

Cacao Old Fashioned

This smokey and sultry recipe features our Organic Ecuador Collective Cacao, which brings in flavors of toasted marshmallow and campfire popcorn for the perfect fireside cocktail.

INGREDIENTS

2 oz Bourbon (or whiskey)

1/2 oz blood orange syrup (recipe below)

1 Barspoon (1 Tbsp) Organic Ecuadorian Collective Cacao

3 dashes Angostura bitters

2 dashes Orange bitters

TO MAKE

Add all ingredients to a shaker tin with ice. Shake vigorously to incorporate the cacao. Use a fine mesh strainer to strain into a glass over a large cube.

Blood Orange Syrup

Combine 1 cup organic cane or maple sugar with 1 cup filtered water. Heat to dissolve sugar. Add fruit of 1 blood orange (without peel); macerate fruit to extract flavor. Turn down heat and simmer for 5-10 mInutes. Let cool and store refrigerated for 2+ weeks.

Garnish with blood orange peel to serve.

This rich and creamy cocktail features our Single Origin Ecuador Cacao infused into luscious oat milk. It’s dessert in a glass with a wonderfully boozy kick.

INGREDIENTS

1 1/2 oz Brandy

1 oz Single Origin Ecuador Cacao-infused oat milk

1/2 oz vanilla infused vodka

Garnish with a nutmeg sprinkle

TO MAKE

Add all ingredients to a shaker tin with ice. Shake vigorously to incorporate the cacao. Use a fine mesh strainer to strain into a martini glass or serve in a cocktail glass over ice. Garnish with a nutmeg sprinkle.

Cocao Infused Oat Milk

Combine 1 Tbsp Single Origin Ecuadorian Cacao with 1/2 cup vanilla oat milk (unflavored is fine too). Shake to combine and let infuse in your refrigerator for 24-48 hours.
